Jharkhand: HC says Bihar liquor law cannot apply in state

Ranchi, Sep 22 (UNI) The Jharkhand High Court on Tuesday held that the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act, 2016 cannot be applied in Jharkhand and directed release of a vehicle seized in an alleged illegal liquor transportation case, subject to conditions. Justice Anil Kumar Choudhary, hearing a petition related to Pindrajora police station case number 18/2026 in Bokaro, questioned the basis of orders passed by the lower courts relying on the Bihar law.
