Nuakhai festivities showcase Odisha's culture in Munich

Bhubaneswar, Sep 28 (UNI) Traditional Nuakhai rituals, Odia cuisine and Sambalpuri dance brought the Odia diaspora in Munich together as the community celebrated Odisha's harvest festival far from home. The festival of the new harvest, with traditional rituals, food and cultural performances was at an event organised by Odia Samaj Munich e.V. at Milbertshofener Strabe. The celebrations began with the traditional arrival and Juhar, followed by sandalwood tilak and the Nabaanna ceremony, which included lamp lighting, invocation of Maa Samaleswari, offering of new rice and distribution of prasad.
