India Post issues uniform exit rules for Gramin Dak Sevaks, mandates vigilance and past-work checks

New Delhi, Sep 28 (UNI) The Department of Posts has introduced a uniform nationwide procedure for voluntary disengagement of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), requiring scrutiny of their past work and conduct, vigilance status, government dues and pending disciplinary or criminal proceedings before they can be formally relieved. The Ministry of Communications issued the new Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) on September 25 after finding that postal circles were following different practices while processing disengagement requests and verifying the past work of GDS personnel.
