Arunachal Congress sets up panel to study concerns over projects

Itanagar, Sept 27 (UNI) The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has constituted a Study-cum-Fact-Finding Committee to examine concerns surrounding the proposed Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP) and other mega hydropower projects in the Siang region. The committee was formed by APCC president Bosiram Siram amid continuing concerns and protests by project-affected communities and reports of security forces deployment in the region. APCC working president Tanga Byaling will head the committee, with former MP Takam Sanjoy as vice-chairman.
