Hitting out hard against Mr Yeddyurappa, Mr Kumaraswamy said that things could not be done within 24 hours as was being sought by him. ''But I need breathing time'' he said adding that he had been working on the issue of agriculture loans waiver and it would announced in two or three days time. He said the modalities were being worked out by the officials.
That he had taken oath on the name of the people of Karnataka should give enough indication about his concern for the people of the state, he said and asserted his government, irrespective of being a coalition ministry, would be people friendly. Expressing his anguish over the remarks made against him on the issue, he said ''I will not do injustice to Kannadigas''.
On his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi he said 'it was cordial and meaningful'. He raised certain immediate problems faced by the state and sought Mr Modi's immediate intervention. Specific reference was made on the poor coal storage in three major thermal plants -- Raichur complex and super thermal facilities at Ballari and Yermarus where the coal availability was only for two days to maximum two weeks, respectively. ''I appealed to the prime minister to immediately direct the Coal Ministry to rush coal to these plants.
