Enquiry initiated into cover drain scam in Agartala

Agartala, Jun19 (UNI) Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sought the state government's sanction to enquire into the execution of covered drain work in the city.
The capital city faced repeated flash flood recently apparently due to the drainage system of the city.
During left front regime Rs 100 Cr was spent for construction of cover drain but the contractors did not excavate any drain and maintain elevation except covering the top side. This was was revealed recently during a field inspection by Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb.
