Raut alleges extortion within Maha FDA, urges Mundhe to probe corruption

Mumbai, Sep 28 (UNI) Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has alleged corruption within Maharashtra's Food and Drug Administration (FDA), days after praising the department's commissioner, senior IAS officer Tukaram Mundhe, for launching an aggressive crackdown on food-safety violations across the state. In a post on X and a letter addressed to Mundhe, Raut alleged that while the FDA's enforcement drive against hotels, restaurants and other food businesses has attracted considerable attention, some officials within the department are allegedly misusing the regulatory system to extort money from businesses.
