Fadnavis defends SIR, says electoral rolls need regular revision

Nagpur, Sep 27 ( UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday defended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, saying voter lists had not been properly revised since 2000 and should ideally be updated every five years. Addressing a press conference, Fadnavis said the need for SIR was more pronounced in urban areas than in rural Maharashtra due to large-scale migration to cities.
