Kolhapur: 21-feet Ganesh idol collapses

Kolhapur, Sep 25 (UNI) Amid the Ganesh immersion processions being held to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha in the state, a 21-feet tall Ganesh idol suddenly collapsed on a road at Gokhale College Chowk in the city.

According to police, while a Ganapati immersion procession of Y P Powar Nagar Mandal was on way to join the main immersion procession, its 21-feet tall Ganesh idol touched an overhead electricity wire and collapsed.

After receiving information, police and fire-brigade personnel rushed to the spot and provided help.

However, no one was injured in the incident.
