Agartala, Sep 10 (UNI) Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb held meeting with Chairman of Airports Authority of India (AAI) Guruprasad Mahapatra yesterday at Delhi over the ongoing upgradation and expansion work of terminus building of Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport at Agartala.
While persuading for speedy completion of the work, Chief Minister contemplated to inaugurate the facilities with it’s new interiors depicting key tourism spots of the state before Durga puja. During discussion, Deb underlined the modalities on how to increase runway length, besides the renovation of the terminal building, hander etc to bring the airport up to the international standard.
“A proposal for extension of runway will be sent to the state government very shortly for its approval”, said a government release over the meeting of Chief Minister and added AAI would repair and renovation of Kailashahar on priority basis and foundation stone laying program will be held on the month of December.
