Sri Lankan Navy recover cache of gunnery items from Arugam Bay lagoon

Colombo, Oct 4 (UNI) The Southeastern Naval Command of Sri Lanka has recovered a cache of gunnery items from the lagoon area of Arugam bay.
Seven 81 mm mortar grenades, two 81 mm mortar grenade fuses, three 60 mm mortar grenades (with fuse), 79 7.62x39mm ball ammunition and one RPG grenade spilling charger were recovered, the Lankan Navy said on Tuesday.
The underwater operation was carried out for over three hours, under the guidance of Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Ruwan Perera and under the supervision of Officer in Charge Naval Detachment Arugam Bay, the Colombo Page said.
