EPFO raises wage ceiling for mandatory coverage to Rs25,000

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 18 (UNI) The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has raised the monthly wage ceiling for mandatory coverage under the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) from Rs15,000 to Rs25,000 with effect from September 17, 2026, bringing a larger section of employees under the social security net. The move will extend EPF, Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) and Employees' Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme (EDLI) benefits to eligible employees drawing between Rs15,000 and Rs25,000 a month, strengthening social security coverage and contributing to the formalisation of the workforce.
