Maharashtra orders SIT probe into historic 170-acre land allocation of 'Premier Automobiles' in Kalyan

Mumbai, Sep 18 (UNI) In a move that has sent ripples through both the corporate sector and the real estate market, the Maharashtra Revenue department has ordered a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the historical allocation of over 170 acres of land given to Premier Automobiles-the erstwhile manufacturer of the iconic 'Padmini' car-in Kalyan of neighbouring Thane district. The investigation will scrutinize administrative orders and transfers dating back more than 60 years, from 1962 to 1965.
