Near-Fatal bus incident inspires Doctor to propose pedestrian safety plan for Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Sep 26 (UNI) A near-fatal encounter with an RTC bus while cycling on the roads of Erragadda nearly three decades ago prompted a city-based medical practitioner to study traffic and road safety and explore ways to make Hyderabad's roads safer for pedestrians. Dr Garuda Somanna, who has completed around 40 years of private medical practice, has submitted a proposal titled Indian National Busways, Episode 1.1: Pedestrian Safety to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and Hyderabad Traffic Police, seeking consideration of an integrated pedestrian safety infrastructure plan.
