Telangana: BJP chief Ramchander Rao detained on way to Jurala

Hyderabad, Sep 22 (UNI) Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao was detained by police at Jadcherla on Tuesday while he was proceeding to the Priyadarshini Jurala Project to meet farmers protesting for the release of irrigation water. Mr Ramchander Rao had planned to visit the project to understand the grievances of farmers and extend solidarity to their demand for water to the Jurala command area. BJP leaders alleged that several party functionaries were also placed under house arrest to prevent them from joining the protest.
