SRly Chennai Division commences leased parcel cargo express train between TN and Punjab

Chennai, Oct 6 (UNI) The Chennai Division of Southern Railway has commenced a Leased Parcel Cargo Express Train (PCET) operating on a round-trip basis between Mundiyampakkam and Sahnewal Railway Station in Punjab. The contract has been awarded to M/s Xtra Freight Forwarder, Delhi, for operating the Leased PCET for a period of six years from October 3, 2026 to October 2, 2032. The inaugural run was flagged off from Mundiyampakkam carrying 267.9 tonnes of commercial goods, including garments, automobile parts and electronic goods.
