Can Vijay's poll victory be declared invalid for auditor's mistake ? Madras HC raises key question

Chennai, Oct 7 (UNI) The Madras High Court on Wednesday raised a key question on whether the election victory of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C.Joseph Vijay from the Perambur Assembly constituency in Chennai could be declared invalid just for a mistake committed by the auditor over discrepancies in the declaration of his assets in the poll affidavit. Vijay won the Perambur seat by a margin of 53,715 votes and three separate election petittions were filed challenging his victory, while one plea was filed against his victory frm Trichy East by a margin of 27,416 votes.
