Gurugram, Oct 7 (UNI) Gurugram Police have stepped up their crackdown on the growing use of social media to flaunt weapons and glorify criminal behaviour, identifying 59 profiles allegedly involved in displaying firearms or promoting criminal tendencies during a scrutiny of around 2,000 social media accounts under Operation Ankush. Launched on September 9, the operation is aimed at curbing what police described as the emerging trend of using reels and videos to project weapons, glorify hooliganism and portray criminal conduct as a lifestyle.
