Madras HC nixes with Rs one lakh cost, plea to recover bypoll costs from 6 resigned AIADMK MLAs

Chennai, Sep 29 (UNI) The Madras High Court on Tuesday dismissed with Rs one lakh cost, a PIL seeking to recover the election expenses in the six seats represented by AIADMK MLAs who have resigned their posts. The six former MLAs -- Maragatham Kumaravel (Madurantakam), P.Sathyabama (Dharapuram), Isakki Subbiah ( Ambasamudram), S.Jayakumar (Perundurai), M.R.Vijayabaskar (Karur) and C.Vijayabaskar (Viralimalai), who were among the 25 Rebel MLAs supported the TVK government in the confidence vote violating the AIADMK Whip, have resigned from their MLA posts between May 25 and June 29 and subsequently joined the TVK.
