Eight IDSFFK films still await screening clearance: Minister Vishnunath

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 29 (UNI) Eight films selected for the 18th International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala are still awaiting permission for screening, with Culture Minister P C Vishnunath describing the situation as unfortunate and saying the State government has registered its protest. Of around 1,800 films submitted for the festival, 347 selected films were sent for exemption from certification for screening. Permission was initially not granted for 31 films. Following intervention by the State government with the union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and subsequent legal proceedings, 24 of the 31 films received screening permission.
