End threats against Idukki Collector over elephant corridor order: Environmental groups

Kochi/Idukki, Sep 25 (UNI) Ten environmental organisations in Kerala on Friday demanded an immediate end to the alleged threats and smear campaign against Idukki District Collector Dineshan Cheruvatt IAS over his order to remove illegal structures and other obstructions affecting elephant corridors in the district. The organisations urged the State Government to provide adequate security and full support to the Collector and district administration and sought legal action, including contempt proceedings, against those attempting to obstruct implementation of the Supreme Court and Kerala High Court directions.
