World trusts UP's products, supply chain and entrepreneurs: CM Yogi at UPITS inauguration

Greater Noida, Sep 25 (UNI) Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the fourth edition of the UP International Trade Show (UPITS) in the presence of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said UP's strengths, from traditional skills to modern manufacturing, were showcased to the world in Greater Noida on Friday. This year, more than 600 foreign buyers from 90 countries have arrived, while over 2,400 exhibitors are participating in the trade show with their products. In his address, CM Yogi said that the entire world has confidence in the quality of Uttar Pradesh's products, its strong supply chain, and the reliability of its entrepreneurs. Today, the state is exporting goods worth more than Rs 2 lakh crore.
The Chief Minister said that in four years, the UP International Trade Show has become a major platform for showcasing the state's products to the world. Last year, 550 buyers from 72 countries participated. This year, more than 600 buyers from 90 countries have arrived, and nearly 150,000 B2B visitors are expected to attend the event. This growing participation reflects the growing global confidence in the skills of Uttar Pradesh's artisans, the innovation of its youth, the MSME sector, and the hard work of its farmers.
The Chief Minister said that the world follows those who stay connected to their roots and keep pace with the world. The UP International Trade Show is an example of this. It is an opportunity to witness the convergence of tradition and technology, heritage and innovation, along with skills and market power. Here, Uttar Pradesh's local strengths are making their mark in the global market. This is the work culture of the double-engine government, which transforms potential into potential and potential into prosperity.
The Chief Minister cited Amit Shah as the inspiration behind the vision to give a new identity to the state's traditional enterprises. He said that in 2017, while serving as the BJP National President, Amit Shah recognized the strength of the state's traditional enterprises while drafting the Uttar Pradesh Public Welfare Resolution. He believed that the day Uttar Pradesh recognizes this strength, no one will be able to stop it from emerging as a new manufacturing hub. After forming the government, this vision was branded as "One District, One Product."
The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh never lacked potential. What was needed was to recognize this potential, provide the right environment, and bring it to the larger market. For decades after independence, artisans lacked the necessary resources, guidance, markets, and platforms. This resulted in the new generation moving away from their ancestral skills. The government recognized the talent present in districts, villages, and local clusters and provided opportunities for advancement. He said that talent and tradition were integrated with technology.
Through quality, design, packaging, certification, branding, and marketing, local products were prepared for the national and global markets. The expansion of world-class infrastructure, including expressways, highways, airports, freight corridors, and industrial infrastructure, has facilitated access for local products to larger and global markets.
The Chief Minister informed that 79 products from the MSME sector of Uttar Pradesh have received GI tags and applications have been filed for 75 new products. Referring to Bhadohi carpets, Moradabad brass, Kannauj perfumes, and Varanasi silk sarees, he said that the state's cultural heritage has now been transformed into a brand with a turnover of crores of rupees. Schemes like ODOP, PM Vishwakarma, and Vishwakarma Shram Samman have provided artisans with training, toolkits, loans, branding, and market access. At trade shows, artisans and entrepreneurs are reaching out directly to global buyers. Japan, Vietnam, Russia, Singapore, Austria, and Belarus have joined the UP International Trade Show as partner countries. Their special pavilions have also been set up.
The Chief Minister stated that the participation of these countries will elevate bilateral trade relations to new heights. It will also open avenues for strategic partnerships, technology transfer, and joint ventures. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uttar Pradesh is leveraging free trade agreements with several major countries, offering international companies the opportunity to produce here and access the global market. Japanese Ambassador Ono Keiichi, Singapore's High Commissioner to India Simon Wong, and Belarus' Ambassador Mikhail Kasko, along with representatives from various countries, foreign buyers, exhibitors, and entrepreneurs, also attended the event. Earlier, union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath began the event by paying floral tributes to the portrait of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
The Chief Minister presented the Home Minister with an opal glass Radha-Krishna statue from Firozabad's ODOP. The two leaders then visited the stalls at the trade show together via e-cart, stopping at various stalls to view the products and inquire about them from the entrepreneurs. In the Chief Minister's presence, union Home Minister Amit Shah also launched the "One District One Cuisine" ODOP portal. MSME Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary said that the UP International Trade Show has become a brand for Uttar Pradesh. B2B meetings will be held here with buyers from various countries, providing global exposure to the state's small products.
More than 10 million MSME units in the state employ over 30 million people. After agriculture, it is the second largest employment-generating sector. Through the ODOP and Vishwakarma Shramik Samman Yojana, over six lakh artisans have benefited from training and advanced toolkits. With the addition of 14 new trades, 25 trades are now covered by training and advanced toolkits. Interest-free and guarantee-free loans are also being made available to entrepreneurs.
