AP Cabinet approves setting up of four new Police Commissionerates

Vijayawada, Sep 23 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet, which met at the Secretariat at Amaravati near here on Wednesday, chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, approved setting up of four new police commissionerates in the State. The new police commissioners will be set up in Tirupati, Guntur, Kurnool and Rajamahendravaram. The government decided to set up new police commissionerates to tackle new challenges efficiently. Against the backdrop of rapid expansion in commercial, industrial, transport, and development activities-coupled with urbanization and population growth-the establishment of these commissionerates will introduce an integrated command-and-control system.
