Sajad Lone seeks Muzaffar Baig's support

Sajad Lone seeks Muzaffar Baig's support

Srinagar, April 24 (UNI) J&K Peoples Conference (JKPC) president Sajad Lone, who is contesting from the Baramulla Lok Sabha seat, on Wednesday met former Deputy Chief Minister Muzaffar Baig and sought his support for the upcoming elections.

The development came two days after the Apni Party headed by Altaf Bukhari, extended support to Lone for the same seat.

Lone said the conversation with Baig and his wife Safina Baig, District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson of Baramulla, was confined to seeking electoral support in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

“It was a pleasure to call on @Muzaffar__Baig sahib and @SafinaMBaigji. As the conversation predictably veered towards elections, I stressed that I have a right. And seeking their support is my right. @imranrezaansari,” Lone posted on X.

Safina reacted to the meeting saying that Muzaffar Baig has seen Lone grow and evolve.

“Whenever Beigh sahib and I host Sajad sahib at our residence, it inevitably reminds all of us of the decades long that we share. Beigh sahib has seen him grow and evolve. And yes @sajadlone sahib is correct when he says he is here by virtue of a right,” she posted on X.
The Baramulla Lok Sabha seat will go to polls on May 20 and Lone is up against National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Fayaz Mir.
