Punjab court sentences woman to death for girl's murder

Ludhiana, April 18 (UNI) District Sessions Judge Munish Singhal on Thursday sentenced the accused woman Neelam to death by kidnapping and brutally murdering an innocent girl Dilrose (two yrs) old at Quality Road, Shimlapuri, Ludhiana in 2021.
The sessions judge convicted Neelam on April 12.
A case was registered against the accused Neelam at the Shimlapuri police station on 28 November 2021 after the statements of Shaminder Singh, the grandfather of the victim girl.

Ex-gratia for family members if polling personnel die on duty

Chandigarh, May 2 (UNI) Ex-gratia financial assistance will be provided to the families of polling or security personnel in case of death or permanent disability while on election duty. Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Anurag Agarwal said on Thursday.
"In the unfortunate events of violent incidents, bomb blasts, terrorist attacks, or shootings leading
to the death of personnel, the family will receive Rs 30 lakh.
