Observing that several specially-abled persons had become a source of inspiration for others, Mr Kovind mentioned the names of Under-19 cricketer Preethi Srinivasan, athletes Deepa Malik and Sajjan Singh Gurjar, renowned dancer Sudha Chandran and Jagadguru Rambhadracharya.
On the occasion, he also narrated the inspiring tale of revered Vedic sage Ashtavakra to encourage specially-abled persons.
The President commended the the Indian Red Cross Society's Haryana, the Madhya Pradesh Government, the district administration and other organisations for organising the event.
