PM-CHHATTISGARH-DEVELOPMENT THREE LAST BHILAI

Lamenting that though Bhilai had been recognised as an education hub of the country since decades but the city lacked an IIT, Mr Modi said, “Chief Minister Raman Singh had been trying constantly for securing an IIT for Bhilai during the previous regime but to no avail.”
“Today, the foundation is being laid for a new IIT campus – estimated to be built at a cost of Rs 1,100 cr – in Bhilai,” he said.
“Likewise, the Rs 2,500-cr Bharat Net Phase II kicked off today. Efforts would be made to complete this project by March next year. Internet has already reached 4,000 panchayats of Chhattisgarh and would reach remaining 6,000 panchayats by next year,” said the Prime Minister adding that digital connectivity was laying a new foundation for empowerment of poor and deprived sections.
