Pathankot–Baijnath train derails near Kangra

Kangra, May 25 (UNI) The train Engine of Baijnath bound passenger train was today derailed between Koparlahar and Kangra railway stations but there was no loss of life and no passenger was injured too but the traffic remained affected for nearly six hours on the track, Railway police sources said here.
Yudhvir Singh Station House officer Kangra Railway station told UNI that Baijnath Bound train from Pathankot (No 52463 UP) reached 90/ 8 kms location situated between Koparlahar and Kangra railway
stations at 9.00 am when the front two wheels of the engine got derailed and the train was stuck. No passenger was injured in the accident however a major tragedy was averted as the engine got derailed just before it was to cross a bridge over the National Highway near Kangra railway station.
