Ministry of Railways approves 1,023 supernumerary posts to extend promotion reservation benefits to employees

Panchkulka, Sept 21 (UNI) The Ministry of Railways has approved 1,023 supernumerary posts, including 38 gazetted and 985 non-gazetted positions, to provide notional promotion reservation benefits to eligible employees with benchmark disabilities (PwBDs), according to a Railway Board order. This one-time measure applies to eligible PwBD employees from June 30, 2016, to May 16, 2022. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) advised ministries to assess the need for such posts to grant these benefits for the specified period.
