IMD forecasts very heavy rain in Tamil Nadu, dry week across northern plains

Panchkula, Oct 19 (UNI) Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal during October 19-21, while the northern plains, including Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, are expected to remain dry through October 25, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Monday. A well-marked low-pressure area over the southwest Arabian Sea is also likely to intensify into a depression within 24 hours, the department said in its morning bulletin issued at 8.16 am.
