Haryana holds hearings in 28,000 SIR cases; special camps to continue on Oct 8-9

Chandigarh, Oct 7 (UNI) Haryana election authorities on Wednesday disposed of hearings in around 28,000 pending cases at special camps held across the state as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, with officials stepping up the exercise ahead of publication of the final voter list on November 6. According to official figures, 44,91,923 notices have been generated under the SIR exercise in Haryana, of which hearings in 3,15,173 cases remain pending, accounting for 7.02 per cent of the total.
