Central govt employees' body presses Finance Ministry for early DA, DR hike announcement

Panchkula, Sep 26 (UNI) A major central government employees' organisation has urged the Finance Ministry to fast-track the next revision of Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) due from July 1, 2026, seeking an early announcement ahead of the festive season. The Confederation of Central Government Employees and Workers, in a letter to the Secretary, Department of Expenditure, said the revision should be processed and placed before the competent authority at the earliest once the relevant Consumer Price Index data and the prescribed formula allow the new rate to be determined.
