Ahead of Diwali, raids conducted in 38 UP districts, licences of 15 sweet shops suspended

Lucknow, Oct 29 (UNI) With households buying sweets for Diwali, the Uttar Pradesh government has stressed tightening the food safety system to ensure the purity and safe manufacture of food items. In this context, under the "Shuddh Hi Shubh Hai" campaign of the UP Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA), sweet and namkeen manufacturing establishments were extensively inspected in 38 districts across 17 divisions of the state, excluding Chitrakoot division. During this, serious violations of hygiene and food safety standards came to light in several establishments.
