Nomination for 4 LS & 28 Assembly seats begins in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Apr 18 (UNI) The nomination for the first phase of polling in Odisha, covering four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly constituencies, began on Thursday with the issuance of the gazetted notification by the Election Commission of India.
Briefing newsmen here on Thursday, Odisha Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunj Bihari Dhal said the four Lok Sabha seats going to poll in the state in the first phase (the fourth phase in the country) are Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Koraput, and Berhampur.
Apart from these four Lok Sabha constituencies, 28 Assembly constituencies (seven Assembly seats in each Lok Sabha seat) will also go to the polls on May 13. Dhal said the filing of nominations for these four Lok Sabha and 28 Assembly seats, which commenced today, will be over on April 25. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be taken up on April 26, and the last date of withdrawal has been set for April 29.
