Rock collapse volume at mine in Russia's Far East reaches 194,500 cubic meters

Moscow, Mar 21 (UNI) The volume of the collapsed rock at the Pioneer mine in Russia's far eastern Amur Region, where 13 people are still trapped under the rubble, is almost 22 times higher than initial estimates and reaches 194,500 cubic meters, local emergency services told Sputnik on Thursday.

On March 18, at 8:40 p.m. local time (11:40 GMT), a mine collapsed in the Zeysky district of Amur Region. Following the incident, an emergency regime was introduced in the region.
