Bus swept away by floods in Kenya, 51 escape death

Nairobi, April 9 (UNI) Fifty-one people narrowly escaped death after a bus they were traveling in was swept away by raging floods along the Nairobi-Garissa highway on Monday night, the police said on Tuesday.
Tana River County Police Commander Ali Ndiema said 49 passengers, a driver, and the bus conductor on board the Umma Express bus were travelling from Garissa in eastern Kenya to the capital city of Nairobi at 11:30 p.m. (2030 GMT) when the bus was swept away by floods in the Lager Areli area.
