Day temperatures above normal at isolated places over Bihar & Chhattisgarh

Pune, Mar 14 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Bihar; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at most places over Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; at many places over Delhi, north interior Karnataka, Telangana and Vidarbha; at a few places over east Madhya Pradesh; at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam and Odisha. They were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh; below normal (-1.6°C to - 3.0°C) at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, west Rajasthan, Punjab, Saurashtra and Kutch and Arunachal Pradesh near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 41.3°C was reported at Anantapur (Rayalaseema) over the country.

Night temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Odisha; appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Rayalaseema and Telangana ; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Kerala and Mahe, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam; at a few places over Jharkhand, West Bengal and Sikkim; at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Assam and Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. They are below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha and near normal over rest parts of the country. Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 9.8°C is reported at Ludhiana (Punjab) over the plains of the country. Hailstorm observed at isolated places over Gangetic West Bengal (Durgapur).
