Day temperatures above normal at isolated places over TN & Puducherry

Pune, Mar 9 (UNI) Day temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over Rayalaseema; at a few places over Karnataka, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Kerala and Mahe; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Konkan and Goa and Telangana. They were appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at isolated places over west Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over east Rajasthan and Bihar; at a few places over Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, west Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand; at isolated parts over Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Arunachal Pradesh and Gujarat Region and near normal over rest parts of the country. Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 40.5°C was reported at Anantapur (Rayalaseema) over the country.
Night temperatures were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam; at isolated places over west Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Kerala and Mahe. They are appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to - 5.0°C) at a few places over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gangetic West Bengal and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura; at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim and east Madhya Pradesh; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at many places over west Uttar Pradesh; at a few places over east Rajasthan, east Uttar Pradesh, west Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch, Jharkhand and Odisha; at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand and Gujarat region and near normal over rest parts of the country. Today, the lowest minimum temperature of 8.0°C is reported at Karnal (Haryana) over the plains of the country.
