Jain Monk Nileshchandra launches ‘Save the Pigeons’ campaign, announces fresh agitation in Mumbai

Mumbai Dec 5 (UNI) After the closure of pigeon shelters (kabutarkhanas), Jain monk Nileshchandra on Friday launched the 'Save the Pigeons' campaign. Speaking to the media here on Friday he said he has begun mobilising his community for compassion towards all living beings. He announced that he will once again stage a peaceful hunger strike at Dadar to convey their message to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. He alleged that some ministers are ignoring the issue due to the upcoming elections, but assured, "We will not ignore it".
