Maha: 352 candidates file 477 nominations for 8 LS seats

Mumbai, April 5 (UNI) The Election Commission of India released a statement Friday informing that a total of 477 nominations have been filed by 352 candidates for eight Lok Sabha constituencies that will face voting on April 26 in the second phase.
Thursday was the last day for filing nominations in the Marathwada and Vidarbha constituencies of Buldhana, Akola, Amravati, Wardha, Yavatmal-Washim, Hingoli, Nanded, and Parbhani.
Till last evening from Buldhana 29 candidates had 42 nominations; in Akola 28 candidates filed 40; from Amravati 59 candidates filed 73; in Wardha 27 candidates filed 38; from Yavatmal-Washim 38 candidates had 49, Hingoli 55 candidates had 78, Nanded 74 candidates had 92, and Parbhani 42 candidates had 65 applications submitted, according to the statement.

All the nomination papers will be scrutinised on Friday.
