Nomination papers of 110 candidates in 5 constituencies of Maha found valid: EC

Mumbai, Mar 29 (UNI) After scrutiny of nomination papers filed by candidates for first phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Maharashtra, the chief Electoral officer informed on Friday that applications of 110 candidates out of total 181 have been found valid.
An official press release issued by State Election Commission stated that constituency-wise the number of valid candidates are as such Nagpur-26 out of 53, Bhandara-Gondia-22 out of 40, Gadchiroli-Chimur-12 out of 12, Chandrapur-15 out of 35 and Ramtek-35 out of 41.
The deadline for withdrawal of nominations in five constituencies in the first phase is March 30 and polling for these constituencies will be held on April 19.

Mumbai, Mar 24 (UNI) The Maharashtra Assembly on Monday witnessed heated exhanges between the treasury and the Opposition benches on the turmoil over stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra's "traitor" remark targeting Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde
Referring to the vandalism of the studio where Kamra had staged his show, Leader of the Opposition Ambadas Danve said some people attacked the venue despite the presence of police officers.
