Telangana govt decides to celebrate Savitribai Phule birth anniversary as Women Teachers Day

Hyderabad, Jan 3 (UNI) Telangana government took a pioneering decision on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule, who is an inspiration for all sections.
The government issued orders on Thursday evening to celebrate Savitribai Phule's birth anniversary as Women's Teachers Day on January 3 every year. Savitribai laid the foundation for the empowerment of women through education and also fought for women's equality in society.
In a release, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said that the People's Government is committed to fulfill the aspirations of Savitribai Phule. The CM recalled the services rendered by Phule couple and also their sacrifices to the cause of the society.
Reddy said Savitribai laid the foundation for a historic change in Indian society and recalled that she dedicated her entire life to provide education to the women community and render justice to the oppressed communities.
The Chief Minister also remembered that Savitribai's fight against gender discrimination and caste inequalities inspired everyone. The people's government has been striving to achieve Savitribai's aspirations, he said.
with an aim to promote one crore women as millionaires, the government accorded top priority to women's empowerment. Innovative programs have also been taken up to develop skills to provide job opportunities to the women community in all sectors.

The government already completed a comprehensive house-to-house survey to support the social and political advancement of BCs ( backward classes) and weaker sections. The Chief Minister said Savitribai Phule worked hard to make women educated.
In recognition of her sacrifice and hard work, the Chief Minister called on women teachers to celebrate Savitribai's birth anniversary as Women Teachers' Day every year.
