950 candidates in fray for Apr 19 TN LS polls, 14 for Vilavancode Assembly bye-election

Chennai, Mar 31 (UNI) A total of 950 candidates including 874 men and 76 women are in the fray for the April 19 single phase polling to 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu.
According to Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo a total 1,749 nominations were received and during scrutiny, 664 nominations were rejected and the papers of 1,085 candidates were accepted.
Of them, 135 nominations were withdrawn till the last date for withdrawal of candidates on Saturday,
