Lucknow, Mar 5 (UNI) Former MP Dhanjajay Singh and his accomplice were held guilty by a special court here on Tuesday in almost four-year-old case of kidnapping a project manager of Namami Gange and extortion, a prosecution counsel said here.
Assistant District Government Counsel (ADGC) Lal Bahadur Pal said that after being held guilty Dhananjay has been sent to jail and the quantum of punishment will be pronounced on Wednesday.
He said that on May 10, 2020 Abhinav Singhal, who was working as project manager in Namami Gange scheme in Jaunpur, lodged a case at Line Bazar police station against former MP Dhananjay Singh and his accomplice Vikram Singh on charges of kidnapping, extortion and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
