SP vision document for LS polls promises caste-based census by 2025

SP vision document for LS polls promises caste-based census by 2025

Lucknow, April 10 (UNI) Promising social justice through caste-based census, the Samajwadi Party (SP) on Wednesday released its Vision Document for the Lok Sabha elections that also vowed minimum support price (MSP) to the farmers as legal guarantee and to implement the Old Pension Scheme (OPS).
Titled 'Janata ka Maang Patr - Hamara Adhikar', the vision document was released by SP chief Akhilesh Yadav at the party's state headquarters here in Lucknow.
Talking to the reporters, Akhilesh said that the party has included suggestions of the general public and organisations as well. "We made an effort to invite maximum suggestions from the public and organisations through various mediums, including social media, and we have incorporated all the suggestions in the vision document," he said.
He said that the vision document is about the right to save the Constitution, the right to save democracy, the right to freedom and autonomy of democratic institutions and the right to justice and equality. "Right to social justice is important for development and prosperity. Inclusive development cannot be done without social justice for which caste-based census is very important," he said.
The former chief minister said that the party will conduct caste-based census by 2025 on the basis of which it will ensure justice and participation of all by the year 2029. " He said that the party will fill all the vacant posts for SC-ST and PBC in the government by 2025 and ensure participation of all sections of the society in the private sector," he said.
He said that the party is of the view that MSP should be calculated on the basis of the formula of the Swaminathan Commission report. "We will ensure payment of MSP and legal guarantee. "The rate of unemployment in the country has increased and as per the current figures it is around 80 percent. The government does not want to give reservation, it doesn't want to provide employment therefore the papers of various recruitment examinations are being leaked deliberately," he said.
The SP chief said that the party will ensure the right to 'Aata and Data'. "The quality of ration being provided to the poor is not good and it lacks nutrition. We will provide flour instead of wheat as a free ration. Besides, in order to bridge the digital divide, mobile data of Rs 500 will be given free to every ration card holder family," he said.
He said that the party will ensure the right to free education. "The budget for education will be increased from 3 per cent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) to 6 per cent and a mission will be launched for quality," he said.
Akhilesh Yadav said that OPS will be implemented again for all sections of the government employees. "This government has intentionally brought the Agniveer scheme so that children of the poor do not get educated. "This scheme will be scrapped and regular recruitment will be done," he said.
He said, "With all these issues we are going before the people and we hope that it will support us. The INDI alliance will register a historical victory in Lok Sabha polls and SP and its alliance will win maximum seats in Uttar Pradesh."
