AAP launches ‘Jail ka Jawaab Vote se’ campaign to seek support for Kejriwal

New Delhi, Apr 8 (UNI) Ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2024, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday announced the "Jail ka Jawaab Vote se" campaign to garner support for the party and its convener Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail in connection with excise policy case.
Addressing a press conference, AAP leader Sandeep Pathak appealed to people to support the party and the Chief Minister, alleging that the BJP had conspired to arrest Kejriwal to remove him before the elections.
"Under this campaign, we will visit each household and explain to them. We will now convert this entire struggle into votes," he said while launching the campaign.
Pathak further added, "Arvind Kejriwal has struggled all his life for the people of the country. Since coming to power, he has worked for the happiness of every family in Delhi. He has ensured education for children, good healthcare, water supply for all, and provided free electricity. He arranged free bus travel for women, and now a proposal has been passed in the Assembly to give women a thousand rupees per month."
"It is the responsibility of Delhi to protect it. If Kejriwal is not there, who will care for the happiness of your family? Today, the whole world is watching us," he added.
AAP Delhi Convenor Gopal Rai asked people to respond to dictatorship through votes.
Meanwhile, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh also alleged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of committing corruption in the name of electoral bonds. In a press conference, he said, "The Modi government and BJP have committed corruption worth lakhs of crores in a planned manner. This corruption has been done through Electoral Bonds."
He added that by changing the rules, several companies were given tax exemptions worth thousands of crores.
“There are 33 companies which incurred a loss of Rs 1 lakh crore in 7 years, these companies donated Rs ₹ 450 crore to BJP. Of these, 17 did not pay tax or get a rebate in tax. There are 6 who have donated ₹ Rs 600 crores to BJP and one donated 3 times more than its profit. There is one company that donated 93 times its profits. Three companies have never paid income tax but have donated Rs 28 crore to BJP,” Singh said.
