New Delhi, Apr 6 (UNI) Accusing the BJP-led central government of conspiring against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by misusing ED to arrest him, AAP Delhi State Convenor Gopal Rai announced on Saturday that all the ministers, MLAs, MPs, and councillors of the party, including people across India and abroad, will participate in the party’s mass fasting event on April 7.
Addressing the media here, Rai said, “The AAP is organizing a ‘Samuhik Upwas’ (Mass fasting) as part of a protest against Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest. Indians, all over the country, and the world will fast against the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal.
'Samuhik Upwas will commence everywhere tomorrow from 11 am onwards at Jantar Mantar.”
“Indians living abroad will also observe this fast in support of Arvind Kejriwal. The mass fasting will take place in the USA, at the Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles; in New York, Boston, Los Angeles, Washington, DC, in the USA, Toronto in Canada, Melbourne in Australia, London in the UK among other places,” he said.
He further urged citizens to participate in the event, stating, “People can fast from anywhere, their districts, villages, and homes, for the well-being of Arvind Kejriwal. They can give their blessings to Arvind Kejriwal.”
“The BJP has plotted against Arvind Kejriwal and used probe agencies to arrest him,” he alleged, adding that with each passing day, the Modi government’s conspiracy is getting exposed in front of the country.”
People have been asking for a long time why these senior leaders, including Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh, were arrested. On what basis was the Chief Minister of Delhi arrested? The BJP has been claiming that these leaders have committed some crime, which is why they have been arrested.
“They (the BJP) are conspiring to finish Arvind Kejriwal by levelling false cases of liquor policy against him. Now, the approvers based on whose statements the CM has been arrested have exposed their relationship with the BJP. Some have made donation relationships with the BJP, and some have been befriended with tickets. The BJP is intoxicated with power, they are full of ego and deny all the allegations. They are not commenting on any of these scenarios,” he claimed.
Rai also released WhatsApp number 7290037700, asking people who are participating in mass fasting to share their photographs with their names, details, and location.
