Authorities announce setting up of 1276 polling stations for Mizoram LS elections

Aizawl, Apr 14 (UNI) Election officials in Mizoram have announced the establishment of 1276 polling stations across the state for the forthcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha in 2024.
Out of 1276 polling stations, 751 are in rural areas, and 525 are located in urban centers. Additionally, authorities have identified 14 vulnerable polling stations and five critical polling stations to ensure comprehensive electoral coverage.
while 15 polling stations can only be accessed by boat, 11 polling stations are reachable solely on foot, reflecting the geographical diversity of the region. Polling stations have been strategically distributed across 1166 locations, catering to an average of 671 voters per station. The majority of polling locations comprise one station each (1069 locations), with 87 locations hosting two polling stations, seven locations accommodating three stations, and three locations housing four stations. Moreover, officials have established four auxiliary polling stations and 25 model polling stations to facilitate a seamless voting experience.
