Bid to check poll violence: Over 2k bound down in Arunachal

Itanagar, Mar 31 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Pawan Kumar Sain said that around 2,000 people, including habitual offenders or those with such track records have been bound down in different parts of the State, in a bid to avert any kind of law and order situation on the poll day so as to ensure free and fair elections.
“Considering the law and order issues during previous elections, the habitual offenders or those involved in unlawful activities in past elections are being identified and are bound down by the police to prevent any kind of law and order problem on the poll day,” Sain told reporters.
Arunachal Pradesh is going to simultaneous polls for two Lok Sabha and 50 Assembly seats on April 19.
