Crank up production lines and push exports to surpass FY23 numbers

Kolkata, Mar 30 (UNI) Engineering goods exports is just US$ 9.04 billion away from surpassing last year's numbers and hence the exporters need to crank up their production and push the shipments,
according to EEPC India chairman Arun Kumar Garodia.
" As the current financial year is set to close in days," Garodia
urged exporters in a message to the member exporters to get creative
with export strategies
.
"March is our moment to make history. Let’s crank up the production
lines, get creative with our strategies, and push our exports over the
top. We’re not just aiming to match last year’s numbers; we’re going
to beat them and set a new high score for India’s engineering
exports," Garodia wrote.
He said, "Let's act with urgency and demonstrate our industry's
exceptional capabilities to the global market."
Engineering goods exports had hit US$ 107.04 billion in the financial
year 2022-23.
In the last few months, engineering exports from India have been on a
steady growth path and registered 15.9 percent year-on-year growth in
February this year, the highest in the current fiscal so far.
With exports picking up pace in the second half of the current
financial year, cumulative exports have narrowed down.
Engineering goods exports in the April-February period of FY24 stood at US$ 98.03
billion, up 1.23 pc as compared to US$ 96.84 billion in the
corresponding period of the previous year.
